Tour plan for black forest germany - Top attractions black forest

Last week (Oct 19, 20 2013) we visited black forest for a two day trip. Normally we don't go for a very long trips for a week or something but go for very short trips but to various places.

Triberg water falls

Triberg Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany with a height of 163 m and is a landmark in the black forest region. The area has good trails to go to various levels of the falls. It is open for 24 hours (as of oct 2013) but it is good to visit in the day. We visited during 19, 20th of October and the fall colors was at the peak. So it is beautiful everywhere with trees of various colors and it is an amazing site.

The parking facilities are very near to the falls. You can see clear signs for parking. To reach the falls you should walk on the winding trails for about 500 meters. The slope is moderate but bit difficult for old people. Taking prom is not advisable as the path is not so smooth. There are no steps though it is just slope but with pot holes.

There are view points at various levels to see the beauty of this falls. So you can go up close and get a better glimpse of this natural master piece of black forest. The view you will get once you go up near the top of the falls is amazing. You can see the Triberg town and adjoining hills. If it is falls colors you can see the valley full of trees with different colors of Orange and Red leaves. That is also one reason why you should go in the day light to see the view from the top.

If you are a group of friends who also want to do some sports, if weather permitting there is a rodelbhan on the way to Triberg waterfalls in a village near Gutach. Rodelbhan (Singersbach 1A, 77793 Gutach, Germany) is a nice sport and I love it.

This Rodelbhan ride is good only in good weather conditions of course. So I guess if you are planning to go in between May till October then you should be able to enjoy it.

Worlds biggest Cuckoo clock

You can see many such advertisements in different parts of black forest so it is very difficult to say which one is the biggest one. But the one here is something we liked. Every hour the cuckoo comes out and chimes. To see that the crowd stands there and waits for that. It is free in this place. I went to one more place where they charged around 2-3 Euros. So you are better off in this place.

Schluchsee

This place is a hidden wonder I would say because this is not popping up when do you a normal google search for top attractions. This location is nice because it is closer to Triberg falls (50 KM) and also closer to Feldberg (20 KM) the top point in black forest. We have stayed here in this location and the views from this place is really amazing. There are lot of hotels in this area so if you stay here, it is easy to visit other places easily.

B500- Scenic Route

B500 is a scenic route in germany that goes from Baden-Baden to .  This route is picture perfect during this fall color season. The driving route is safe as always in germany but the winding roads up and down the mountain gives breathtaking views of the sorrounding areas and you can enjoy each and every moment of the drive.

Feldberg

This place is the peak of black forest. It is very closer to Schluchsee. Here there is a cable car which takes you to the top of the place where you can see very good views. Check out the weather though. When we went the weather is very bad and I would say horrible and I could not see even who is standing next to me. But the experience is worth exploring.

There is a pizza place just next to the cable car and it is really good. You can get hot pizza starting from 8 euros and it is really tasty. Vegetarian people also lucky because they have vegetable pizza as well.
